From Hedgehog’s team
First of all, I mapped the UX of the website and did the first analysis, writing down things we should avoid, keep, or add. The scope of work was defined after this evaluation.
Defining the experience
Analyzing Hedgehog app in June 2021: no clear hierarchy of elements, no defined typography, multiple colors for backgrounds, gradients and CTAs.
Then, we studied possible organizations for the pages in the app. Hedgehog product has so many features that it was pretty challenging to select what would make sense to come first in the mobile experience.
Once the structure was ready to be visualized, I made a study based on their brand universe so we could explore the colors and concepts behind the hedgehog product. I select some options of colors, typography, and layouts that could match the previous work on the website, and together we chose what was the team’s favorite.
At the end of my participation in this project, the app had this modern, fresh and minimal look and feel, keeping the loved gradients and the brand colors as the main aspects of the experience.
As part as the deliverables, I designed a mini design system to guide the project going forward. When working as freelance designer, I found it hard to keep track and follow up with changes in the development phase of products, after I stop working with the team. I’m always trying to deliver a library to help the teams in the future - sometimes it can be very helpful.
