MUSA
A platform that ensures waste reuse by integrating generators, transporters, and recyclers.
About MUSA
MUSA simplify company's waste management by using a segregation model at source and access a digital ecosystem of transporters and recyclers. They partner with Singularity University, the global learning and innovation community using exponential technologies to tackle the world's biggest challenges and build a better future for all.

UX/UI
Have you ever imagined the future of waste management? MUSA is a platform that guarantees the reuse of all waste, integrating generators, transporters, and recyclers.

Defining the experience
MUSA implemented a simplified disposal model aligned with waste production and covering all waste flows. By using MUSA technology, it’s possible to monitor the quality of segregation and the volumes companies produce. Once the limit of your waste storage is reached we send a specific hauler to collect each kind of waste, ensuring no contamination, tracking and guaranteed reuse.
My part in this project was to help to design the first version of this product in a mobile experience.
The app is designed to connect the demand for collection services with MUSA transport partners for each type of waste. The process brings logistics efficiencies and reduces costs. This also ensures waste quality from source to the final destination. The communication tools for alerts and real-time tracking are also planned for this experience.
Each type of waste has a specific route and optimized transport, specified in a simple flow in the app, depending on which role you play in the system. We designed 5 different user cases: 4 different account permissions, and one different flow for collectors. It was a complex system that we did as simple as possible for each use case.
Design system
For the beta version of this app, I designed a basic design system, where we have a consistent guide for using colors, buttons, shapes and typography.
